Terms & Conditions
1. Scope of Services
Nova K9 Training provides professional dog training instruction and behavioural guidance. The service includes assessment, structured sessions, and educational support for handlers.
The trainer does not control the dog outside of training sessions and cannot guarantee behavioural outcomes due to lack of consistency.
2. No Guarantee of Results
The handler acknowledges and agrees that:
- Dog behaviour is influenced by multiple variables beyond the trainer’s control
- No specific outcome, timeframe, or level of reliability is guaranteed
- Lack of progress or regression does not constitute a failure of the trainer or program
3. Handler Responsibility & Compliance
The handler is solely responsible for:
- Implementing training and management strategies outside of sessions
- Ensuring consistent practice
- Following all safety, handling, and equipment instructions
Failure to comply with instructions or complete assigned training exercises releases the trainer from responsibility for lack of progress or outcomes.
4. Assumption of Risk
The handler understands that working with dogs, particularly reactive or behaviour-challenged dogs, involves inherent risks, including but not limited to:
- Bites
- Scratches
- Property damage
- Injury to animals or people
By enrolling, the handler voluntarily assumes all risks associated with participation.
5. Owner Liability
The handler remains fully responsible and legally liable for their dog at all times, including:
- During training sessions
- Outside of training sessions
- In public or private spaces
The trainer shall not be held liable for incidents arising from:
- Failure to follow instructions
- Failure to manage the dog appropriately
- Use of the dog outside agreed training parameters
6. Disclosure Requirement
The handler must disclose all relevant behavioural history, including:
- Bite incidents
- Aggression toward people or animals
- Previous training methods used
Failure to disclose material information constitutes a breach of contract and may result in immediate termination without refund.
7. Safety & Equipment Compliance
Handlers agree to:
- Use recommended equipment
- Keep dogs on lead unless explicitly instructed otherwise
- Maintain required distances from triggers
- Use muzzles where advised
The trainer reserves the right to modify, pause, or terminate sessions if safety is compromised.
8. Off-Leash Training Disclaimer
Off-lead training:
- Is not guaranteed
- Is introduced only when safety and behavioural benchmarks are met
- Occurs only in secure or controlled environments
The trainer is not liable for off-lead incidents occurring outside instructed training scenarios.
9. Cancellations & Missed Sessions
- A minimum of 48 hours’ notice is required for cancellations or rescheduling
- Late cancellations or no-shows may forfeit the session
- Missed sessions are not automatically replaced
10. Payments & Refund Policy
- All payments must be completed in full
- Courses are non-refundable once commenced
- No refunds for missed sessions
11. Termination of Services
The trainer reserves the right to terminate services if:
- Safety is compromised
- Instructions are repeatedly ignored
- Behaviour history was withheld
- The program is deemed unsuitable
No refunds will be issued in these circumstances.
12. Media, Recording & Intellectual Property
- Recording of sessions is prohibited without written consent
- Training materials remain the intellectual property of the trainer
- Materials may not be shared, reproduced, or redistributed without permission
13. Governing Law
This agreement shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the trainer’s operating jurisdiction.
14. Agreement & Acceptance
By enrolling with Nova K9 Training, the handler confirms that they:
- Have read and understood these Terms & Conditions
- Accept full responsibility for their dog’s behaviour
- Understand that outcomes depend on handler compliance
- Agree to participate at their own risk
